A better tomorrow starts today.

Learn how working in groups can help you feel like you again.

Why Groups?

Throughout history, people have gathered together to celebrate in times of joy and to support each other in times of struggle. The pandemic has taught us that we need community and connection more than ever.

At Mind Body Wellness we believe in the power of community and connection.  We hold space for our fellow human beings to move through the challenges and celebrations that come with living.

In our groups and workshops, you are a human first. We leave the medical model and its diagnosis, disorders, pathologies, treatment plans and one-on-one setting at the door. The admission criteria are simple, you are:

  • Motivated and desire to be in a community.

  • Committed to showing up on time and with mutual respect for the other members of the group.

  • Able to hold the confidentiality of the group in order to create a safe and supportive environment.

You want to connect with, support, and empower your fellow group members in the shared struggles and delight that is part of being a genuine and authentic human.

The role of the Mind Body Wellness team is to create and hold the space, to facilitate and guide the group, allowing each group to form its own organic energy of healing and connection. It is the philosophy of Mind Body Wellness that we are always learning and growing. There is more than one right way to host a Circle, group or workshop.

This is your space to talk about the shit going on in your life, to be heard and seen by the other group members. A space to form new connections and a sense of community. When we are connected, it gives us the space to be vulnerable, allows us to grow, and reminds us that our struggles do not have to be endured in solitude.

This is the space where your struggles will be seen as just that, a struggle that is part of the human condition. In our Circles, groups and workshops, there are no treatments, pills or ways to “fix” your struggle. Depending on the Circle, group or workshop, you will learn new ways to help you be your most authentic self, connect with other group members and develop a sense of community that is essential to healing.

Group FAQs

Can I use my insurance for a Circle, group or workshop?

No, while we do accept some insurances for individual therapy, the way our Circles, groups and workshops are structured is outside of the medical model and therefore do not meet the criteria for medical necessity (i.e. the need for treatment as indicated by a mental health diagnosis).

Can I be in individual therapy and attend a Circle, group or workshop?

Yes. Our Circles, groups and workshops are designed to complement individual therapy.

Do I have to be in individual therapy to attend a Circle, group or workshop?

No. Our Circles, groups and workshop series are designed to be accessible. Our groups are about building community, creating connections, and holding a place for people to show up as their authentic selves. When we are connected and feel supported, we believe there will be many positive outcomes, including improved mental health.

But I don’t have time to attend a Circle, group or workshop?

We get it, we are all busy. In an effort to make our Circles, groups and workshops more accessible, many will be offered in both an online and in-person format. And to be brutally honest, there will never be time unless you make it. Isn't it time you prioritized yourself for once?

Will I have to share personal information?

Our Circles, groups and workshops are designed in a way that you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Part of the magic of the group experience is hearing what other participants have to share and relating in some way. In our Circles, groups and workshops, there will be opportunities to share and connect, but all members will always have the opportunity to pass on sharing.
