You have faced attachment issues within your family relationships, abuse, low self-esteem and confidence, and neurodivergence including ADHD or Autism. You may have felt "different" or that you did not belong to any certain community. You may struggle to know your personal identity, as well as cultural identity.
Hello, I am Nila …
And I get it.
I have my own personal experience with several years in therapy, working through my own healing journey. I love being in nature, being with my cat and other animals, spending time with friends and family, going to coffee shops and local stores, and traveling. I also love to practice yoga and meditation, as they are helpful grounding practices for me. I teach hot vinyasa style yoga classes on the weekends, and I enjoy doing tarot readings for myself and others.
What is it like working with me …
I value active listening, empathy, compassion, and unconditional positive regard towards my clients. I work to help my clients understand each of their parts, and use a compassionate and trauma-informed approach to validate every part. I will help you show compassion to your parts, integrate them, and value each of them. I will also assist my you in becoming in tune with the needs of your parts, and apply this information to improving your relationship with yourself and others.
I know and believe things will change …
You may notice that you are noticing changes in your mood, relationships, and/or day-to-day activities. I also find value in checking in with you periodically to assess any changes you are noticing, as well as if you feel your needs in therapy are being met.
But is there hope for me?
I value validating and reassuring my clients, and assist them in developing the skills to validate and reassure themselves. If you ask, "Is there hope for me?", I would want to begin by asking where this question comes from and validate your feelings and difficult past experiences. I will provide you with an explanation of the counseling process and how there can be ups and downs throughout the process; however, overall with time and effort, they will begin to feel better. I will be your advocate and do my best to create an environment where you feel safe enough to communicate when things are working or not working.
